Florian Alexandru-Zorn presents the Muffkopf

At www.onlinelessons.tv, you can learn how to play the guitar. Or the piano. Or the drums. Florian Alexandru-Zorn has now introduced detailed versions of both versions of the Muffkopf in the lesson on bassdrum sounds. His conclusion: secret weapon!

Very easy and good to hear

With the Muffkopf you can change your bass drum sound with lightning speed. In this video you can see how the Muffkopf is quickly applied and what it actually sounds like. The standard model is starts the demo, the fleece-model rounds out the end. Click, click…

What the heck is this little fork that was delivered with my Muffkopf for!?

The Muffkopf has already impacted the soundscape in three continents, and some people are asking: „What the heck is this little fork that was delivered with my Muffkopf for?“

The answer is simple: if you use the Muffkopf regularly, the threads could possibly tangle in some places. That’s normal, don’t worry. To get those tangles out, you can simply take your girlfriends hairbrush and comb it out OR you use the special Muffkopf-comb (which looks a bit like a small fork). And you don’t have to pay for it – it’s a gift! Isn’t that cool?

Christoph Buhse testet den Muffkopf

Now that warm and soft bassdrum sounds are back, the Muffkopf offers great opportunities. The Muffkopf is mounted and tied on the bassdrum beater in no time — and your bassdrum sounds soft, subtle — vintage. For all drummers who often play in acoustic, quiet bands, this is a simple and cheap additional sound option. I always have it with me!

The first packages are shipped

Yes! The first packages are on their way. A German drum magazine is testing the Muffkopf, and the Muffkopf is already seeing use in the USA!

I always had the same problem at my liveshows: if I wanted to change my bassdrum sound for one song into a muffled, vintage sound, I had to either change the whole beater or I had to use something like a sweatband or a rubber glove or something else. I ended up always looking for the d*** drumkey or I was always twiddling with something, which meant I was leaving the beater in the middle of the song. I was just losing too much time.

So in spring 2014 I had an idea in my rehearsal room: actually it just needed a simple „pull-over“- solution, which would be easy and quick to handle and would fit securely on the beater. My second thought was: “There must already be something like this…” but I didn’t find anything similar. Neither the colleagues that I spoke to nor my retailer had ever heard of anything like it. They were all excited about the first prototype that I handed them and encouraged me to do more with the idea.

And that’s why this page exists – my first venture into this field. I do this with great respect – and also with great enthusiasm. Let’s go!

We are online...

We’re online! Yay! Finally! Before we (hopefully) sell out, I’d like to give a really big THANK YOU to some people:

www.fraukanne.de: – this is the woman that makes sure that all the cloth, threads and strings turn into your Muffkopf. Brilliant!

www.claudia-weiand.de: – an extremely creative woman, who played a huge role in naming the Muffkopf.

Www.marius-mueller.info: – this young man just knows where to place a little product in order to make it a big hit. Perfect!

Furthermore, thanks to everyone who tested the Muffkopf and gave me such good feedback and so many useful tips!
